Isha Khanzode is a multimedia artist currently based in Los Angeles with roots in Massachusetts and India. Her work spans many media including video, painting, animation and sculpture, through which she explores themes of discomfort and displacement, often satirically.

In recent years, Khanzode’s work focuses on the connection between ecological systems, on one hand, and emotions and bodily processes on the other. Colorful yet grotesque forms and facial expressions hope to provoke introspection and question the narratives we tell ourselves, whether that be reinforced by external forces or not. As these works center internal discoveries and emotions, writing plays an integral role in Khanzode’s artistic process in order to synthesize these thoughts and scribbles.

Isha Khanzode’s work has been exhibited online in collaboration with Art in the Park (Los Angeles) as well as at various galleries at the California Institute of the Arts, where she received her BFA (‘22).
